What was that dark shadow? Did you hear that piercing screech?! You don’t need an excuse like Halloween to plan a scary guitar class. Having a scary themed concert is sure to perk up even the most listless student and focus your lesson. Here’s how to make it happen*:
1. Invite them
Sure, they know what time their regularly-scheduled guitar class is. But this is NOT their regularly-scheduled guitar class – THIS is Seriously Scary Guitar Class! Take 15 or 20 minutes to design and send an email invitation to your special event. (Think: ghosts, reapers, skull and crossbones, etc.) This will get your students excited.
2. Set the stage
Dim the lights, build a faux campfire in the middle of class. Cue up the sound of a howling wind for your students’ entrance: http://www.soundjay.com/wind-sound-effect.html. Now you’re ready to roll.
3. Present your simple-scary playlist
